An IP geolocation lookup matches an internet address with data maintained by a network-information provider. Results can include the country, region, city-level estimate, time zone, Internet service provider, and Autonomous System Number (ASN). The data is useful for diagnostics and network research, not for identifying an individual.
02Why IP Location Results Can Differ
IP addresses are assigned to networks, not to a person or a GPS coordinate. Mobile carriers, VPNs, corporate gateways, CDNs, and recently reassigned addresses can make the reported location broad or inaccurate. Treat a result as a network-level estimate and verify important information with another source.

When you run a lookup, your browser sends the IP address directly to IPAPI to obtain the result. Nexifr does not receive the lookup, but the provider receives the submitted address. Avoid entering an IP address that you consider sensitive.

Mobile carriers, VPNs, corporate proxies, and CDN edge nodes commonly cause results to reflect a network exchange point rather than a user's actual location.
What is an ASN (Autonomous System Number)?
An ASN is a unique identifier assigned to a network operator — such as an ISP, hosting company, university, or corporation — that routes internet traffic. Knowing an IP's ASN tells you which organisation controls that network block, which is useful for diagnosing routing issues or identifying CDN and cloud provider addresses.
